Butchering

Starting to skin the steer!
Still skinning - I actually helped pap skin - the first time ever in my life. It actually was fun if you can believe that.

Done - now cutting it in half with the bone saw. It took us 2 -1/2 hours - then it was hanging in the cooler. I'll do that again!

Home Again

Sorry, made kindof a mistake - excuse me - I haven't blogged for a few weeks. Just took a few pictures of the flowers that my friends planted on the request of my hubby - now wasn't that sweet. Also a picture of the water pump that Freek bought at an auction sale and the picnic table that Gerry bought for his dad's birthday. We are so spoiled.

Anyway - I had a beautiful time in Australia. It is always wonderful to see our children and grandchildren and to see and experience that they are also God's covenant children. That is the greatest joy of all!!! And you know - when you have been away for 4 weeks - it is so very electrifying to see your spouse again - an awesome feeling!!! I am so thankful that I could be there for the children and that God granted me travelling mercies and also that I could arrive home safely to Fred. We stayed overnight in the city before going home - and that was such a thrill! It was also wonderful to see all the children and grandchildren at home as well.

More Aussie Wussie!!

And here is Kelita - she loves swinging - the family took me out for a night in Rockingham - there is a park right on the beach - is a beautiful spot. Was wonderfully enjoyed by all.
Oma with the two Vanderveen granddaughters - aren't they the sweetest and growing up toooo fast.

Oma with the first and only Dekker granddaughter (yet)!

Oma with the two Vanderveen grandsons - beautiful smiles eh!

More from Aussie!!

Mary giving little Ezra a bath - Quite the cute little man - a very very very sweet baby! It was such a joy to help my own daughter out with her gorgeous addition and the rest of the family!!!
Mary bought a bumble chair at a second hand toy store - it is actually for Ezra when he is a few months old - but I snuck in a sneak preview!!
The two big brothers of Ezra - Vince and Nick!

Helping out with the making of applesauce.

Australia - a few of the holiday!!

Hello everyone!!! Sorry that I haven't added to the blog for the last while, but I have been away to Australia. It was supposed to be a surprise for Mary - but the above flowers arrived on the morning of our arrival time ie. 2:25 p.m. Pap had sent them for our anniversary, but the flower shop delivered it early. The card that came with the flowers said "To my lovely wife - for our anniversary". Mary knew then that I was coming even though we weren't there yet. Nonetheless, it was a huge surprise - and a glorious flowery welcome for me!!!
Henrietta, who is having a baby in December, wearing the new outfit she bought when we went shopping together with Mary. (Was a good deal together, wasn't it Hen?)
Angelina, our little princess - checking out Mary and Eric's back deck. It was such beautiful weather - it is winter, but it was around 20 degrees during the day and then it would cool off to around 15 degrees at night - but to me it was gorgeous. Posted by Picasa
